Two color cake

Ingredients for the stuffing:
Amount Ingredient
8 Medium size onion
1 Large carrot
6 slices Mozzarella light
2 Eggs
1 tbsp Oil
Necessary quantityOregano

Necessary quantityPepper
Necessary quantitySalt (optional)


Ingredients for the dough:

1 cup Wheat flour
15g Wheat bran (optional)
2 tbsp Oil
Necessary quantity Salt (optional)
Necessary quantity Water


If you want to make it with whole wheat flour you can use half of white flour and half of whole wheat flour .
This amount yields only for the base.
If you want to make base and cover use 2 cups of flour.


Directions for the dough:
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and add water a little until they are well blended and then knead until a smooth dough forms.
Stretch it finite and place it on a pan previously coated with oil.
Take it to the oven for a few minutes to precook it.
Remove it and leave it for a minute.


Directions for the filling:
Peel and wash the onions, cut them in a pen (*).
Cook them slowly with the oil in a pan until they turn golden and tender. Remove them from the pan and leave them for a while in a bowl.
Wash and peel the carrot, grate it finite and incorporate it into the onions.
Add the eggs, seasonings and mix.


Final assembly:
Pour a little of the preparation on the precooked dough, place 3 mozzarella slices, pour more of the preparation, again 3 mozzarella slices and finish with more of the preparation.
Take to the oven until it is cooked.
Remove and serve.

(*) pen: thin and longitudinal cut that is made to the onion.




Tips:
Spice up your cake with the herbs that you like and try to add new flavors to your meals :)
In this case I used light mozzarella cheese, but can choose another type of cheese. There are cheeses with less fat content such as: lean cheese or ricotta.
Avoid buying processed masses, if you make caserita takes a few minutes and it will also be less expensive. :)
The garnish that I chose to accompany this portion of cake is a fresh and colorful salad of cucumbers, tomato and orange. :)
